With a passion for creating timeless and characterful spaces, Kimberly Wouters offers an enthusiastic and fresh perspective on architecture, always starting from the local environment. As an ambitious architect, Kimberly embraces not only the physical elements of her projects but also their stories. By incorporating aspects such as heritage, (im)material context, with a focused emphasis on the needs and desires of the end user, she creates a unique dimension in her designs. A sustainable, inclusive, and long-term vision is the common thread in all her projects.
Kimberly's academic journey took her through KU Leuven and UAntwerpen, with an inspiring Erasmus experience at Bauhaus Universität in Weimar. Her practical experiences align with her personal vision and architectural passions. Working with a long-term vision, she joined Archi-F, a firm specializing in sustainable timber frame construction and climate-neutral architecture. Additionally, during an intensive international internship at the award-winning Portuguese firm Rosmaninho+ Azevedo Arquitectos, known for heritage and museology, she delved further into the sensory character of architecture. The rich experience in Portugal further refined her sense of spatial perception and strengthened her understanding of the connection between architecture and storytelling. She consolidates her experiences, inspiration, and inclination for the philosophical and architectural-theoretical aspects with her personal vision in an architecture blog: Studio Kultuurscape.
