What if female entrepreneurship wasn't about proving you're strong enough—but about having the courage to build from authenticity? On 22 May 2026, BNI Genk Forté brought together entrepreneurs for an inspiring morning of perspectives, meaningful conversations, and genuine connections. I had the privilege of joining the panel as a speaker to share my perspective on being a woman entrepreneur in the construction industry.

Ochtendpresentatie Perspectieven uit het vrouwelijk ondernemerschap samen met Inge Ketels van Bureau Stroom, Hanne Lenssens van Lenssens advocaten, Claudia Paepen van Claudadmin en Julie Driessen van Ford garage Driessen
Alongside Inge Ketels (Bureau Stroom), Hanne Lenssens (Lenssens Advocaten), Claudia Paepen (Claudadmin), and Julie Driessen (Ford Garage Driessen), I participated in the morning session, Perspectives on Female Entrepreneurship, where we each shared our experiences and insights.

For me, female entrepreneurship has never been about creating an "us versus them" narrative. It is about sitting around the same table, strengthening one another, and building long-term partnerships based on mutual respect, trust, and a shared vision. By remaining true to my values, setting clear boundaries, and creating space in my own authentic way, I have found my place in an industry that is still often perceived as male-dominated. Yet that is precisely why I believe so strongly in collaboration, open dialogue, and meaningful connections.

Whether in construction, architecture, or business in general, we achieve more together than we ever could alone. I firmly believe in transparent communication and in finding solutions together. Few challenges cannot be overcome when people are willing to engage in honest and constructive conversations. Building lasting relationships with clients, contractors, consultants, and project partners is something I deeply value: sharing the same table through both successes and challenges.

"What is your perspective on female entrepreneurship?"

I am truly grateful to have been part of this inspiring event, surrounded by remarkable entrepreneurs and engaging conversations. It was an experience that will stay with me.

The event aftermovie is available below.
